Falafel Inc: Good for you, your wallet, and another person
If you ever ask my boyfriend, my parents, or even my closest friends what can turn my day from 😞 to 😊 they will all tell you: FOOD!
Some people like food but not I. No, your girl loves her some food! The only thing I will probably ever lose a relationship over without a second thought is...food! Okay so you now know that I love food but did you know that I love me some cheap eats?! Oh yes! If I can make my tummy and my wallet happy at the same time, you know I'm in. Side note: if you're ever planning an event and there isn't food, you might just have to spend a good 30 minutes convincing me to come 😆.
Well, imagine my excitement when my boyfriend introduced me to Falafel Inc? I was in love all over again and honestly I think I love this place the more I visit it. My regular is a falafel bowl comes with spinach, tabouleh, falafels, cucumber tomato salad, cabbage salad, hummus, and pita chips already. On my not so healthy days, I ask for some fries to go with that 🍟.
The items on the menu don't surpass $5 and you get unlimited sauces! Healthy, cheap, and delicious?! I know it sounds way too good to be true but it gets even better. The customer service! This is something that even really dictates if I'm going to recommend a place for you guys and trust me when I say, wonderful customer service! From the cashier to everyone working in the back of the house, they all have a smile on their face when they interact with you. You can even tell with their interactions with one another that they get along with each other too!
The shop is small but I love that 'hole in the wall' look. The interior reminds you how simple the restaurant and the food are because the walls show the unfinished plywood. Then when you look above, you see the pipes which pairs up perfectly with the black painted brick Falafel Inc wall.
Now the icing on the cake: according to the posters on the walls at the restaurant and their website, you're payment goes to supporting refugees. According to the Washington Post, for every $10 spent at Falafel Inc, you will be feeding one refugee a days worth of food! WOW! Supporting people and giving someone a meal while getting a meal yourself? How awesome is that?! Talk about paying it forward!
Talking about this awesome restaurant is making your girl empowered to head back and order another bowl! Check out my rating below and I will see you in Georgetown for some Falafel bowls!
