It Takes a Village to Be Swoll

"It takes a village to raise a child." This is probably one of my favorite phrases I've adopted from America.

You all know I love healthy living and being physically fit, but I don't...no, I know that I wouldn't be able to achieve these goals if it wasn't for my squad! I adore every person that has pushed me to believe in myself and surpass the limits I had initially set for myself.

From those who'd texted me to see if I was heading to the gym to those who just wanted to empower me to keep going, I'm grateful. I know I've given a lot of advice and insight on my journey ( I mean that's the purpose of this whole site), but these people are the ones who really deserve the spotlight. And since I love to respect their privacy, I'm not going to throw their names out there but share with you guys a new accomplishment:

Your girl can do 7 pull-ups! Say what?! I mean, who would've thought?! Not I!

Huge should out to the beautiful people who were standing in this video with me as rooting for me! You guys are amazing! Oh and since I tend to give advice with these posts here is a couple:

1| Find a group of people who are willing to support you come rain or shine.

You want to surround yourself with people who will encourage you the way you need them to but also challenge you in ways you didn't think were possible. People who you can also promote because a relationship that is all about taking will deteriorate over time.

2| Be honest with your village.

If you're struggling with something, be honest with yourself and then with your fitness family! When you allow these people to be a part of your journey, will enable them to give you the strength, understanding, and, you need to overcome your struggles.

3| Your health is a priority, and those who get to be a part of that journey need to be aware of it.

This goes with the honesty and discernment thing. Not everyone can walk your journey with you, and those who do must be one the same wave pattern as you. Just because someone's kind doesn't make them fit to deal with you when you need someone to help you finish those extra sets. Choose wisely and carefully!

Now, I'd love to continue chatting about how fantastic my fit squad is but I have to head to the gym so I'll see you guys later!

Until next time...
