I Refuse to Apologize

Vulnerability

Honesty

Transparency

the reason is simple: you're doing something people who haven't allowed themselves to tap into and haven't done yet. (See how I said yet; everyone can get there.)

Ultimately, there is no place for it, and I refuse to apologize for sharing my truths. The world is filled with people who are misplacing their energy by choosing to allow negativity to fill them up. You can't be one of them. I can't be one of them. There's a beautiful light that God placed in each of us, and he wants us to tap into this gift because it's meant to not only glorify him but to heal and empower others.

Be a spiritual cheerleader for everyone. Empower others to be their authentic selves. Let God use your words and your truth to bless all who meet you. By doing so, we are being who Christ asked of us to be. We don't love by only loving those who we get along with but all people. We love by supporting each other. We love by praying for one another. We love by cheering on each other as we continue our journeys on this earth. Be the light that God destined for you to be and don't apologize for it!

Don't Waste Your Time: It's an Inside Job

I want to tell you a harsh, honest, time saving, heartache preventing truth that I refused to embrace for years…until now: happiness, fulfillment, and everything that brings you to the best version of yourself is an inside job.

[…]there are way too many people in this world getting jobs, making decisions, getting into relationships, and selecting choices that they are using to fill the unbearable pain that that is caused when true peace, joy, love, and happiness is missing.

I've become very aware (I really wanted to use, but I don't want to be dramatic) of how easy it is to allow yourself to hop from one experience to another in a (for lack of better words) foolish way.

re·bound

/rəˈbound,ˈrēˌbound/

verb

recover in value, amount, or strength after a previous decrease or decline.

You've got to pause on the possible relationships, pray rigorously about that new job, and take that opportunity to the altar before you say yes. And while you do those things, listen attentively (I cannot emphasize this enough) to the Holy Spirit.

Proper Healing: He's Got You

"There's nothing more powerful for your growth and future than to allow yourself to grow and heal properly in the arms of God."

- Mom

The bond and the relationship that you allow to grow with God is natural, transformative, healing, and altogether more compelling than anything life itself can produce. It is the exact relationship your soul has always yearned for because it is the only way to tap into true peace, joy, and gladness.

No matter what you did, what has been done to you, where you've been, who you've been, and what anyone says about you, your identity and the core of who you are is as visible to the Lord as the very skin you bear. God knows you and has seen everything you consider painful, disgusting, or awful about yourself. Yes, those things in your story that you hide from people; he sees them all. And even after witnessing it all, he chooses to love on you and care for you to the point of not only healing your body but your spirit. If this isn't what love is, then I don't believe love exists.

[…]who are was always inside of you. But until you realize that, you will fail and find no joy wherever you go. By allowing the Holy Spirit to teach me how to praise the Lord in all seasons, I've learned that the essence of who I am (the part that I aim to continue growing into) is found in who he is.

Slayin' & Slayed

Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him. He also shall be my salvation, For a hypocrite could not come before Him.

- Job 13: 15 (CSB)

[It is] integrity and faith (not works and actions) [that] pleases the Lord even in the midst of storms.

God doesn't need people to speak for him, he chooses to have his Word and his love vocalized through his servants. He's God, he knows what he's doing better than any of us will ever comprehend. Ask your artist what He's painting on the canvas of your life.

[…]No level of work, sacrifice, holiness, or anything you do will exempt you from being tried in your walk with Christ.

[…]You don't owe people an explanation, and you don't owe people jack when it comes to why you do things the way you do or what God is doing in your life.

The Pain That Became My Superpower

He did what he did to me. He did what he did to my psyche. He did what he did to my emotions. He did what he did to...my body.

[…]Be honest and kind to yourself. No matter who hurt you or what has happened to you, please take care of the experience and gather those lessons. Face your pain head-on. You may be like me, who had to let my family, friends, and counselors in my healing process. It's alright.

Do not (I'm dead serious) be the person who purposefully takes advantage of people emotionally, psychologically, or physically. There is no way this matches up with the Word and will of God.

Don't just be a kind human, be a loving human too. Be a considerate being. Acknowledge others in what you do just as you do for yourself. Don't initially be the reason why someone has pain in their lives. Be the person who builds others up and shows them that they are loved because God deems them worthy of His love.

What It Is to Be a Sexy Christian

Sexy: to embrace and display who one is from within by exuding outwardly of the confidence, self-assurance, self-love, and authority that one has.

When you and I are in our elements, accepting and believing in who God has created us to be, we become undeniably sexy. I find it a beautiful state of being.

To be unapologetically confident in the Word of God, the promise of God, the power of the Lord, and the love of Christ is sexy to me. This is a new and real level of sexy that cannot be taken away by what others perceive of you. This level of sexy is what causes mountains to shake and rivers to roar. This type of sexy is to be reckoned with because it's a type of sexy that belongs to you through the gift of your salvation in Christ. It's an eternal type of sexy.
