You're Grown But So Are Your Obstacles

Boast on how God is about to bring you through everything you're going to be facing. Boast about how strong God is about to make you. Boast on the mountain tops on how much God is saturating his Spirit in you so that you may be able to live a life that shows the power and love of Christ!

I'm not going to tell you that being grown is easy. Every adult will tell you that it is a struggle. But choosing to let God make you spiritually stronger and mature your faith through your walk with Christ is doable. Expect to face challenges that will try you till all you can say is, "Jesus!" Though, unlike the famous saying, I believe that God will never let you stay comfortable in your life but instead will assist you in the battles. The Lord will never allow you to face anything without providing an exit, guidance, and strength which will ultimately make you stronger in Christ than you could've ever imagined.

I Am Scared...

I'm scared. I'm actually anxious to tell you about this but…I'm going to do it anyway.

I've been asked recently about how I was able to overcome the worst depression I've ever faced, and I have to confess something to you guys:

Confessions are scary. They make all of us feel uncomfortable and yes I mean all of us, myself included. You know me, I love respectful confrontations and honesty. Sometimes a little too much because I know I make people feel uncomfortable but I'm not apologizing for that. Confessions, on the other hand, they so far past my comfort zone I forget what comfort is when I have to allow myself to share what makes me feel the most uncomfortable voluntarily.

Though I'm uncomfortable, I will confess this: I am scared.

Thank You, I Needed That

I needed to go through the pain. I needed to go through the hurt. I needed to go through the rejections. I needed to go through the disappointments. I needed to face everything that happened last year. I needed to go through 2018 to make my 2019 effective.

No pain or hurtful experience is enjoyable at the time just like the writer of Hebrews says. Just like children, we don't like to be put in time out when we mess up. We don't want to be grounded or corrected when we do wrong but…we need to. We need to make the necessary mistakes so that we can understand who we are, who's we are, and more of the journey that we embarked upon when we said yes to Christ.

Seek The Uncomfortable

God never called you to be comfortable but will always allow you to get into situations that push you so far beyond your comfort zone so that you will understand that there is such a place for you to thrive and not just survive.

He didn't allow me to stay in relationships and situations that were comfortable like depression, friendships, and career decisions because he knew that they weren't for me. He knew that though I may have enjoyed certain people and certain places, it wasn't spiritually for me. I think that's a powerful thing to realize: giving up what is normal or what is comfortable or what brings you happiness because God has called you to what is abnormal, what is awkward, and what will bring you joy instead of only happiness (there's a difference).

Applying the Right Amount of Pressure

Why am I telling you this? You probably don't even know much about baseball or softball nevertheless understand what had happened. I'm saying you that what you may think is difficult, impossible, or unattainable is what is achievable with the right amount of pressure. Every athlete or successful person will tell you this. No pressure no diamond. But wrong force wrong product.

When you ask to grow (which you should and if you haven't then we need to have a talk) expect that you will be uncomfortable. You will not succeed, you will not change, you will not achieve anything without pressure. Know that, except that, embrace that.
