Don't Waste Your Time: It's an Inside Job

I want to tell you a harsh, honest, time saving, heartache preventing truth that I refused to embrace for years…until now: happiness, fulfillment, and everything that brings you to the best version of yourself is an inside job.

[…]there are way too many people in this world getting jobs, making decisions, getting into relationships, and selecting choices that they are using to fill the unbearable pain that that is caused when true peace, joy, love, and happiness is missing.

I've become very aware (I really wanted to use, but I don't want to be dramatic) of how easy it is to allow yourself to hop from one experience to another in a (for lack of better words) foolish way.

re·bound

/rəˈbound,ˈrēˌbound/

verb

recover in value, amount, or strength after a previous decrease or decline.

You've got to pause on the possible relationships, pray rigorously about that new job, and take that opportunity to the altar before you say yes. And while you do those things, listen attentively (I cannot emphasize this enough) to the Holy Spirit.

Slayin' & Slayed

Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him. He also shall be my salvation, For a hypocrite could not come before Him.

- Job 13: 15 (CSB)

[It is] integrity and faith (not works and actions) [that] pleases the Lord even in the midst of storms.

God doesn't need people to speak for him, he chooses to have his Word and his love vocalized through his servants. He's God, he knows what he's doing better than any of us will ever comprehend. Ask your artist what He's painting on the canvas of your life.

[…]No level of work, sacrifice, holiness, or anything you do will exempt you from being tried in your walk with Christ.

[…]You don't owe people an explanation, and you don't owe people jack when it comes to why you do things the way you do or what God is doing in your life.

Child, Remember Your Training

Spiritual training is pretty similar to the conditioning I had as an athlete. In order to make your training effective, you must be willing to sacrifice your time and pleasure for the game. This means more prayer, devotionals, fellowshipping, and anything your soul requires for you to do.

As you begin to prioritize your healing process and your self-love, you allow the power of truth, confidence, and joy back into your life. But the truth is meant to share. Confidence is meant to be displayed. Joy is meant to be given away. As you work your spiritual and mental muscles to overcome the mental stage that is hurting you, you begin to acquire new weapons for the battles you may face.

When I felt low, when you felt stuck mentally or spiritually, I began to remove anything and everything that was causing me pain. I had to clear out the virus by applying a vaccination called Jesus.

The Stories You Choose to Share

There is a sense of confidence that is developed when one chooses to take ownership for what has happened in their life. We must use those moments to make our quilt of life as beautiful as possible. But this quilt cannot be produced unless we allow ourselves to look dead on at what has happened, how it made us feel, what lessons were meant to be learned from them, and in what ways will we be using the lessons acquired by the experience.

There is a price you'll pay to tell your story your way. But my dear, it is worth it! Your liberation and freedom are worth it all. There is a level of respect and love that you owe to yourself and it requires that you share the story that God has placed within you.

Embrace that you survived when what you went through was meant to kill you (emotionally, psychologically, or/and physically). Tell your story.

Love, You Were Born With It

God created the core of who we are. Everything that makes us well...us is because God placed all that in us. So when we face trials, when we feel hurt, when we get upset, and we feel like we are at our ends, there's honestly nothing left but love.

All that I am is love because Christ is love. All that I have is love because Jesus is all I've got. All that I know and can feel is love because Spirit of God that dwells in all of us is all we've known and feel. So next time when you want to act a type of way or give your two cents (no one really needs those cents anyways, it's not like it's got all that value) remember who you are and whos you are.

You and I were never created to be hurtful towards one another. No, God created us to love each other, love ourselves, and love him. Love is the essence of who we are. You don't need to change that much about yourself to know that you are nothing but love and that's all you got.

Hey, It's Younger Me and I Want to Hug It Out

Embracing your battles isn’t about approving of them but understanding that this is a battle that you must either go through, around or overcome.

I find this to be a tad bit harder than the two above because I have a strong belief (this seriously non-negotiable for me) that it takes two to tango (it takes two to make a mistake). But instead of seeing pain like so, we all tend to look at pain as on so and so inflicted this upon me. It's his fault, her fault, or sometimes it's even the poor dog's fault! (Leave the dog alone. Dog's are love, let it be😂) Take the word fault out of your vocabulary! It's doesn't come from Christ (this is my belief) and blaming one another is what Adam and Eve after they screwed up. (If we ought to learn anything aside from not talking to serpents, we ought to all learn that the blame game will never work. It only creates a monster out of a simple situation)

It does take two to tango, but your dance partner will never be able to reassure you entirely after you make a mistake. Since God never created us to be entirely healed by one person, but through him only, we will never find peace after battles until we give it all to him. You and I must learn to speak love to ourselves. We deserve forgiveness when we mess up because God first forgave us. We deserve to see the best in us when we go through because though we are sinners the Father finds us valuable in his eyes.
