The Power of Being Present

Picture being present with the Lord as that memorable scene from Beauty and the Beast. When Belle comes down the stairs in her beautiful yellow dress and all she and the Beast notice are each other. They lock eyes, and in every movement they make are in sync. The couple seems to have been in a world that is entirely their own. This scene is as close to what it means to be present with the Lord in Disney terms.

[…]Sitting in his presence is more fulfilling, peaceful, loving, and healing than anything the world and people will ever give you.

[…]There is power in being still. Being tranquil in the presence of God strengthens us because we are present with the rock that never moves; hence, we are unshakable. Being present with the Lord causes us to discern effectively and confidently. Being able to be present with the Lord allows us to heal and perceive life and people the way that the Lord does. To be present with Christ will enable us to add more color ( I adore art) and depth in our relationship with the one, our soul loves the most. There is life, growth, freedom, peace, and consistent peace when we a present with our Father.

You're Grown But So Are Your Obstacles

Boast on how God is about to bring you through everything you're going to be facing. Boast about how strong God is about to make you. Boast on the mountain tops on how much God is saturating his Spirit in you so that you may be able to live a life that shows the power and love of Christ!

I'm not going to tell you that being grown is easy. Every adult will tell you that it is a struggle. But choosing to let God make you spiritually stronger and mature your faith through your walk with Christ is doable. Expect to face challenges that will try you till all you can say is, "Jesus!" Though, unlike the famous saying, I believe that God will never let you stay comfortable in your life but instead will assist you in the battles. The Lord will never allow you to face anything without providing an exit, guidance, and strength which will ultimately make you stronger in Christ than you could've ever imagined.

Seek The Uncomfortable

God never called you to be comfortable but will always allow you to get into situations that push you so far beyond your comfort zone so that you will understand that there is such a place for you to thrive and not just survive.

He didn't allow me to stay in relationships and situations that were comfortable like depression, friendships, and career decisions because he knew that they weren't for me. He knew that though I may have enjoyed certain people and certain places, it wasn't spiritually for me. I think that's a powerful thing to realize: giving up what is normal or what is comfortable or what brings you happiness because God has called you to what is abnormal, what is awkward, and what will bring you joy instead of only happiness (there's a difference).

Call Me Crazy: Break the Alabaster Daily

What are you withholding from Christ? What are you keeping away from him and why? Why are you allowing the perspective of others to have control over how you worship your Savior? So many times, we want Christianity to be our religious status. We forget that to follow Christ is to allow him to penetrate and reconstruct every aspect of who we are.

This woman realized something that I pray to God I never forget. She realized that the alabaster jar she had (beautiful and all) was meaningless because Christ is more priceless, more precious, and beyond worthy of anything she ever owned.
