He’s Obsessed with Me & I Am His

“Abigail, I am obsessed with you. My dear daughter do you not understand what I mean when I say that I am a jealous God? I love you more than you can ever love me or any man in this world. What hurts you hurts me. What causes you to tear up makes me cry. I feel every pain that you feel and then some more. I am obsessed with you. I know, I know. It is challenging. I know that I have asked you to abandon everything that brings you comfort. I know that I have asked you to let go of a lot of friendships. I know that I asked you to let go of a relationship that you were betting on for a lifetime. I know my child. I have asked of things that have brought tears to your eyes, but I have allowed you to consistently have peace that is beyond comprehension to dwell in your spirit. That is a sign of my love. I have given you back the smile you that illuminates the souls around you. That is a sign of my love. I have opened your eyes yet again to see what a beautiful and worthy being you are to me. That is a sign of my love. I adore you. I cherish you. I will, and I will continue to love you without limitation.

No man, no person, nothing can ever love you more than I. I am you, God. I am your husband. I am your friend. I am you, Savior. I am your guide. I am your healer. I am your provider. I am your fighter. I am that I am. Remember my words. They are true, and they will not come back to me void. I said it in the beginning that you are mine. I told you that I will destroy everything if it means to have just you. I told you that I am obsessed with you, even so, more than my very own son, Jesus. I gave you every gift you possess because I want you to know that I love you so much that I want you to be a part of my glory. I gave you the ability to laugh in hurricanes. I gave you the ability to love even when others hurt you. I gave you the ability to display ridiculous courage in spite of what you or others may think. I gave you the ability to write these very words in which I am speaking to you. Remember what my Word says,

'At that time those who feared the Lord spoke to one another. The Lord took notice and listened. So a book of remembrance was written before him for those who feared the Lord and had high regard for his name. “They will be mine,” says the Lord of Armies, “my own possession on the day I am preparing. I will have compassion on them as a man has compassion on his son who serves him. So you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve him.'

- Malachi 3:16-18

I am obsessed with you my love. I cherish everything you are and everything you do because I made you. You are mine, and I am yours. We've got a beautiful thing going on, and I refuse ever to let you go. So don't be afraid. Remember that I said that when you pass through rivers, when you pass through fire you will not drown nor will you burn.

‘I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. You will not be scorched when you walk through the fire, and the flame will not burn you. '

- Isaiah 43:2

I am holding you. Keep your grip wrapped around my hand. Just as a father refuses to let his child walk down an unknown path alone, I refuse to let you go through this journey of life alone.

Don't worry my love. Don't focus on any of the what ifs. Those are uncertain, but I am sure. I am constant. I am always with you. I will never let you go. I love you regardless of everything. I know you feel like you don't deserve it and guess what? You don't. But I gave you my love, and I continue to give it to you because I am obsessed with you. So let me wipe those tears. Let me wrap my arms around you. It's going to be alright because I love you. It's going to be a beautiful life because I created it purposefully for you. This journey called life is my gift to you. I want you to live entirely for me. You've got this because I've got this. I've got this because I love you. I love you, and I am obsessed with you. Now let's do this thing!"

I have been crying for quite some time since hearing this. What can I say after that? Nothing.

I know, it's new year new me time, but sometimes you don't need a new you. Actually, you may not need a new you at all. Maybe what you really need is to understand that the person God created was already perfect. That person has everything he or she needs to do life because God's got them. Maybe just maybe, this isn't a year to go around chanting new year new me.

Perhaps this time you need to understand that though it may be a new year, it's going to be all about the best you. The you that God is obsessed with so much that he sacrificed his only Son for. I don't think we need to change ourselves this year. I think we need to take a long hard look in the mirror and understand that the best version of us has always been with us. We don't need a new us. We need the real us.

So scratch out that new year new me nonsense. It's time for the real us. The us that God is in love with. The real us that he is obsessed with. The real us that he refuses ever to let go of. That is the aim. That is what your resolution, your goal, your focus needs to be.

Until next time…

-🌿 Abigail
