Glowing TF Up

Before I begin today's post, I want to start by thanking every person who has been supporting me in this chapter of my life. I cannot imagine who I would be at this present time if I didn't have such a robust support system and business team to back me up, remind me who I am, and call out what is out of order. (Oh, that's one of my favorite phrases. I think I'll be repeating it more now.)

Now, I want to begin by sharing with yall why I even decided to write this post. Not one, two, or four but just about every person in my inner circle has been repeating something I never thought I'd hear especially after 2018. These words have been echoing in the back of my mind, and I've been trying to make sense of it. What has everyone been repeating to me?

"You are truly living your best life."

At first, I wanted to take those comments and wrap myself in them because it's a positive thing to hear especially from those who know you best. But the more I thought about it (yes, I'm an overthinker, and I love that part of who I am; come at me bro😤👊🏾) the more I realized, I don't want just be "living my best life."

To be honest with you guys, I want a life that showcases a woman who is beyond every pain, hurt, struggle, battle, and obstacle life throws at her. I want to conclude this thing called life with the notation that I have done everything I knew I could do and loved on every individual I've met without holding anything back. I don't have a life that is only about "living my best life." I want to glow tf up in every chapter and every season of my life.

Oh, I forgot to explain the title of today's post to you. Here is my favorite definition of this:

glow up

an amazing transformation

See I wanted to take this meaning up a notch the tf ( I'm not going to explain that part, please use your imagination).

I feel that there is a sense of realization and empowerment that penetrates the very core of a person when they are placed in either a fight or flight situation or when they realize there is untapped power and resiliency in their DNA. You guys hear me saying how our DNAs have this and that. I firmly believe that when we dig deeper, we are exposed to a part of who we are that sometimes can only be discovered when we realize our true worth and authority. This is where the glow up begins.

'“Behold, I have created the blacksmith Who blows the coals in the fire, Who brings forth an instrument for his work; And I have created the spoiler to destroy. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord , And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord .'

- Isaiah 54:16-17 (NKJV)

'And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.'

- Romans 8:9-11

'The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. '

- John 10:7-10

Some of us had an incredible 2018 whereas some of us are beyond the moon that it's over. I'm both. Though, instead of harping on what kind of year I had, I've made it my mission that from 2019 to when I get called home, I want each year to be a glow up year. That means the following for 2019:

1| If something (job, person, activity, etc.) doesn't serve me or what Christ has called me for, then it can skedaddle.

2| I am my biggest obstacle, not people or things, so I need to keep myself in check

3| Love, respect, and care for my squad but give that in ten folds to those who aren't my squad (enough said).

4| If I want it, if I've prayed, if Jesus has given me the go-ahead then let's do it! (ties back into #2) It's mine, mine, mine!

5| Resiliency is my middle name. Understand that nothing, absolutely nothing or anyone, can overcome me because my God said He's got me.

6| I don't have to say yes to everything or everyone, but I don't have to say no either.

7| Recognize that I am a BAWSE (read this book guys; I'm in love with it). And live it!

We all glow up differently, but the important thing is to realize that since we are human, we are designed to continue growing. We cannot continue to stay in our stagnate states. You and I are meant to go from season to season with more wisdom, lessons, experiences, and love than the seasons before. We are meant to allow the previous chapters we’ve faced to help formulate a new section of our life story that will blow those who will read it out of the water.

If there is anything I've learned from glowing tf up recently, it is I'm in love with the fearlessness that I've been given by God. I'm obsessed with how powerful Jesus and I are when we link up. It amazes me that there was always a fierce, loving, joyful, faithful, kind, thoughtful, bold, brilliant, and brave woman stored up inside me. I'm glad I get to let her out and let her roam. It's beautiful that I now get see where this version of Abigail is going to go and what she's going to do. I'm not living my best life (I have always been doing that). Now, your girl is glowing tf up!

Until next time...
