The Misson: You Have Always Been Worth It
Oh, how we do not deserve you, God. How immature are we? How ignorant can we be to forget and reject the magnitude of your love?
Why do we allow the insignificant event of each day to overshadow the incredible love you have for us? Help us to understand...no believe that because you first chose us, we are worthy Lord.
Today, I really don't know who I'm talking to. Maybe a younger version of myself. Or perhaps a bother or sister who needs, wants to know and believe that there is worth to their existence. I already apologize in advance because I don't know your story. I don't know what you've been going through. You may not be alone, but you may feel lonely, and it's terrifying.
Maybe you feel as if you're surrounded by darkness. The darkness that has been chemically created by insecurities, doubt, mistakes, outside judgment, verbal and physical abuse, rejection, or failure. It's this, and you can't make out the end of this dark tunnel.
I want to tell you that with just this post everything will be alright. I want to ensure you that all your pain, fear, and worry will go away after this chat. I want to personally take everything that is hurting you and throw it into the abyss.
But I can't. I'm not Jesus, and I can't magically heal you from everything even though I'm praying that you do overcome this obstacle soon.
I may not be able to heal you or take your monsters away entirely but I can love, and that's what I'm going to do.
First, I'm sending you a spiritual hug and wrapping my arms around you. Second, I've left you a musical gift to brighten your spirit up a little. Third, I want you to know you are and have always been worth it even though you don't feel like it right now.
You are worth it all. Jesus believes it so much he died in your place. He hadn't physically met you, but he knew what you've been so desperate to validate. You are precious. He said he wanted you, not just some but all of you. Sinful, broken, hurting and all your glory. He believed this so much that he took the bullet for you. He died in your place. He's madly in love with all of who are and guess what? So is his father.
Even before Jesus came on Earth, God gave David a message to relate to us:
'He forgives all your iniquity; he heals all your diseases. He redeems your life from the Pit; he crowns you with faithful love and compassion. He satisfies you with good things; your youth is renewed like the eagle. The Lord executes acts of righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. He revealed his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel. The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in faithful love. He will not always accuse us or be angry forever. He has not dealt with us as our sins deserve or repaid us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his faithful love toward those who fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him. For he knows what we are made of, remembering that we are dust. '
- Psalms 103:3-14 (CSB)
You are so loved my dear. No matter how dirty you believe you are, God will still get his hands dirty just to let you know how much he treasures you. He isn't out to hurt you and will not accuse you of what is bothering you. His love, faithfulness, and compassion have no limit nor expiration date. You are ridiculously loved and valuable to the LORD.
No man or woman will love you more. No insecurity, doubt, mistake, outside judgment, verbal or physical abuse, rejection, or failure will abolish the great love of God.
Let me pray with you:
Father, thank you. I know we don't really deserve to have this opened line of communication with you but appreciate you providing it.
Lord, we're begging you. Pleading that you prove and continue to show us your perception of us and our existence. This world, the events we've been through, and the people have left us temporarily wounded. We are bleeding from all the scars we've endured. Though these cuts are nothing compared to what you bore on the cross, they are hurting us.
We are coming to you to ask for indescribable, incomparable, and unlimited love. Please remind us that we are not just flesh and bones but that we are your children. We are worthy because you deemed us so. We are worth the sacrifice because you made it so. Remind us that we are beyond everything we are facing.
You've got this Jesus. Remind us of this when the darkness tries to misconstrue our perspective because we are not surrounded by darkness but by your limitless love.
Thank you for listening to us. We know you heard us and we're excited to see you work on us some more. In Jesus' name, Amen.
